**NSF-REU position available in avian ecology research for summer 2017**

Application is now open for an NSF-REU (National Science Foundation Research Experience forUndergraduates) position to conduct field research in avian foraging behavior to take place inAguadilla, Puerto Rico for the summer of 2017. The work is under the supervision of Dr. TomásA. Carlo (Penn State Univ.

The successfulcandidate will be a highly motivated student with proven birdwatching experience and withintentions of pursuing advanced degrees in ecology or related field. The duties involvefieldwork and the successful candidate should be very comfortable being outdoors watchingbirds on a daily basis (5 days per week) and working with two graduate students. The REU isonly for students that are currently enrolled in a bachelors’ program in Biology, ecology,environmental science, or related field, and that have not graduated at the moment of thetenure of the REU. The work will start in mid-May and at the end of July 2017. All living andtravel expenses (to and from Aguadilla) in addition to a full monthly stipend will be provided bythe project. The work requires being stationed in Aguadilla, PR for the duration of the research.
