What is a mentor?

Mentors are junior and senior students who become “big brothers” of freshmen and sophomores in order to guide them into their new life as college students in the Environmental Science Program of University of Puerto Rico – Rio Piedras Campus.

Mentors are students who:

  • Are accessible and available to new students

  • Help members establish networks between fellow students and faculty

  • Maintain themselves up-to-date of events, internships, research opportunities, and topics related to environmental careers

  • Personal satisfaction by assisting in the development of new students

  • Expand your professional/social network of colleagues who have passed through the program

  • Enhancement of Environmental Science Program quality
